They must have had no imagination at all. Go ahead, ask me if I liked it.I saw some low scores and I say pish-tosh. I was engulfed by this tale from the beginning. If she wanted to surround you with your own goose-bumps she could, and did. She dragged you into her suspense and then threw in a ridiculous comment and all the air went out of you. If I re-read it, I would give it five stars. Most of all, I loved the suspense Karina Halle could create. Nothing, not food or wine was going to stop me from following the awesome plot created by an excellent writer. I picked it back up first chance I got and finished it on the second sitting. I was completely absorbed and hated having to go to bed or put it down. The chemistry and the way the two characters are bound together is very well done. The author's ability to totally captivate you and pull you into the story is remarkable. He seems to be a gentleman of the old school, although he had some rough edges in the beginning. I would like him to live here WITH me, not next door.

Dex, the hot male character, is precious. She takes most things with a grain of salt and then makes you laugh out loud at a witticism. I like the way she talks and I like the way she thinks. She is funny and irreverant and I wish she lived next door. Perry, the main female character, is hysterical. The characters are perfect and you know what the author wants you to know by the time you get halfway into the book and only what she wants you to know. Review 2: 5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun and Exciting Read Full Of Outrageous Characters, June 24, 2011I knew I had been pulled into this book from the get go. I'll probably still start reading it tonight. I would probably start reading Red Fox now, except I have to work in the morning and I'm too old to not need sleep. I've bought the next three on my kindle because I am that sure of this series. I'm interested in learning more about him. Did not like how poor her self esteem is. That and I've been binge watching Ghost Adventures, but I have no new episodes available to watch, and this filled its void.

I think that's what first intrigued me about this book. It's rare to find a paranormal thriller that doesn't include witches, vampires, and or werewolves. I love a book that I pick up and HAVE to ignore everything else until I've finished. If I'm going to be honest, that last scene with Creepy Clown Lady is proooobably going to give me nightmares. While not the SCARIEST book I've ever read (that spot is reserved for Stephan King's IT), it was very creepy.
